Theatre Preview: A Cock and Bull Story, 9 – 13 June, Kitsch Coffee Bar, Edinburgh

2 Jun

Described as a cross between Rocky Balboa and Shameless, Richard Crowe and Richard Zajdlic’s infamous play A Cock and Bull Story is coming to Edinburgh for a five night run from Tues 9 – Sat 13 June.

Travis is an up-and-coming amateur boxer on the verge of the big time. Jacko is his coach, mentor and best friend.

As they prepare for the big fight that will take them from nowhere to the somewhere of unlimited booze and women, it comes out that Travis experiences sexual arousal in the ring, a fact disturbing to homophobic Jacko.

First performed in 1985, A Cock and Bull Story may not be for the fainthearted but it promises to be a challenging and very adult look at attitudes to homosexuality in a sport which prides itself on its macho image.

Full details are available on the Emerald Blue website, while tickets can be ordered by phone on 07534 364 602 or at the door of Kitsch Coffee Bar Bistro, 36 Bernard Street, Leith on the night of performances.
