Film Preview: Rebus: Knots and Crosses, 9 April, Filmhouse, Edinburgh

2 Apr

I remember on New Years Eve 1999 I was standing on Castle Street in Edinburgh, just a short while before the bells, and I noticed the short but determined figure of Ken Stott making his way through the crowd. I thought he was a great actor even back then, years before he turned up on ITV as Inspector Rebus.

The story doesn’t get any more exciting than that, but it does segue into the news that Edinburgh’s Filmhouse will be screening an episode of the TV series, Rebus, based on Ian Rankin’s novel Knots and Crosses, on Thursday 9 April at 6.15pm as part of their Made in Edinburgh strand.

Writer and director Roger Gartland (who also directed Stott in The Vice in 1999 and was production manager on the excellent 90’s version of BBC1’s Campion) will be on hand to answer questions following the screening.

Head over the Filmhouse website for more information.
