Edinburgh’s Filmhouse is screening three Alfred Hitchcock thrillers over the next week, Notorious, Rebecca and Spellbound.
Each film has something to recommend it, though the fact that this is Hitchcock with restored prints in the cinema is pretty much enough for me.
I’m particularly interested in seeing Notorious this weekend, with Cary Grant in a rare role as a rather cruel chap.
Visit the Filmhouse website for all dates and times.
(On a side note, I rewatched my Criterion The Lady Vanishes DVD a few nights ago and it amazes me every time just how brilliant it is – script, performances, direction, all perfect – search it out if you want to watch something funny, fast and thrilling.)
