Although his name isn’t perhaps so well known as some of his contemporaries, Valerio Zurlini collaborated with some of the biggest names in European cinema, such as Marcello Mastroianni, Claudia Cardinale and Alain Delon during the 50s, 60s and 70s.
Now the Glasgow Film Theatre and Edinburgh Filmhouse are both showing Zurlini retrospectives, running from Sunday 2 – Sunday 30 November and Monday 3 – Thursday 27 November respectively.
Both cinemas will be screening the same six films out of the eight he made in a 20-year career, namely:
- Family Diary
- Black Jesus
- The Professor
- Violent Summer
- Girl With a Suitcase
- The Desert of the Tartars
